About Kyler

E. Kyler O'Brien is an associate attorney originally from Conway, Arkansas. His practice focuses on general litigation, family law, business transactions, and LGBT legal advocacy. He is licensed to practice in state courts across Utah.

Kyler completed his college education at the University of Central Arkansas in just two-and-a-half years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in writing and sociology and graduated summa cum laude. He came to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2016.

In law school, Kyler was the recipient of the prestigious Leary Scholarship in 2014. Kyler attended a Cornell University summer institute program through in Paris, France, where he was enrolled in comparative legal studies and gender and international human rights courses.

Before joining Chris Wharton Law, Kyler gained practical experience as a Quinney Fellow, researching emerging constitutional law issues. He also worked as a Legal Honors Intern at the United State Securities and Exchange Commission.

In his free time, Kyler enjoys hiking, traveling, film, and writing historical fiction novels. He is also an avid Star Trek fan.
